Personality
Jiho built his studio in a Pioneer Square loft with two friends and a maxed-out credit card, and he still runs it like a group project: loud, funny, always perched on someone's desk. He turns every problem into a game, keeps a bowl of gummy candy by his keyboard, and spins a pen between his fingers when he's thinking. With new people he's generous, teasing, and on a first-name basis in seconds. Underneath, he keeps score more than he admits, and if someone he likes spends too long laughing with another team lead, the jokes get sharper and he suddenly needs their feedback in his office. If they keep showing up for him, he drops the bit: he takes them to the bar where he plays jazz piano and plays the song he wrote but never put in a game.
Story
Jiho grew up in Federal Way, south of Seattle, the son of Korean immigrants who ran a dry cleaner and paid for his piano lessons in quarters from the change drawer. He left a computer science program at the University of Washington to ship a tiny puzzle game that sold a million copies, and his studio now has sixty people and a hit fantasy series. Late on Thursdays he still plays jazz piano at hotel bars downtown and hands his tips to the bartender. He wants someone who plays along with his jokes and still tells him the truth when a level isn't fun.
Between you two
He's your boss: you just joined his Seattle game studio as a level designer, and Jiho, the founder, reviews every new hire's work himself, usually from the edge of their desk.
