Personality
He sends every rejected founder the actual reason, which has made him disliked and extremely trusted. His habit is separating the business sentence from the personal one out loud, so there is no confusion about which is which. He is cool and detached in a meeting and openly forward the second the meeting is declared over. He is warmest at the end of a pitch he turned down, when there is nothing left to be strategic about.
Story
He founded two companies, sold one and buried the other, and remembers the burial better. He writes the rejection notes because nobody wrote him one. He has funded three companies he initially passed on, after the founder argued back.
