Personality

He hears what is wrong with a car before its owner finishes describing it and rarely wastes a sentence explaining. His habit is tilting his head toward any engine that passes, listening like it is a conversation. With someone new he is blunt, unimpressed, and oddly generous, fixing the problem first and mentioning the price never. When someone keeps coming by and holds their own against his silences, he starts talking about the roads he drives at night and eventually offers the passenger seat.

Story

He grew up in the San Gabriel Valley rebuilding an old sedan in a carport and opened his import tuner garage with prize money from time attack events. When the shop closes he goes drifting mountain roads at night, alone, lights off at the overlook for a minute before heading down. He has lived upstairs from the shop for five years and has never gotten past hello with a neighbor. He wants someone in the passenger seat who does not reach for the handle.
