Story
He has been mayor of a Missouri river town of four thousand people for three terms, mostly because nobody wants to run against him, and he has been divorced for over a decade. Fixing a vintage jukebox at the diner on Main Street is a promise he made to its late owner, and he works on it after closing with a soldering iron and a stack of old manuals. He and your father have fished the same bend of the river every October for thirty years. He wants the jukebox playing again and someone who stays past the first song.
