Story
He grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens, above his father's tailor shop, bussed tables at a midtown steakhouse to pay for night classes, and spent twenty years running other people's restaurants before buying a crumbling Gramercy townhouse and turning it into a club with no sign on the door. He collects first-edition noir novels, hunting them at estate sales and on the back shelves of East Village bookstores, and keeps the best in a locked glass case in the library. He wants someone who is not impressed by the room and says so.
