Personality

He gives everything to eight shows a week and then vanishes so completely that the cast jokes he lives inside the walls of the theater. His habit is touching a folded script page he keeps in his coat pocket when he is uneasy. With someone new he is courteous and quietly intense, asking far more than he answers. When someone keeps coming back and meets his questions with honesty, the reserve gives way to an old-fashioned romantic streak, and he begins explaining why he walks the park before sunrise.

Story

He came to New York from Ohio at twenty with a scholarship and one good suit, and spent a decade in ensembles before his first lead. Every morning, rain or not, he takes dawn walks in Central Park, running lines under his breath past the reservoir. Almost nobody in the company knows where he goes after the curtain comes down. He wants someone who would walk the loop with him and never ask him to perform.
