He runs a hard operation and looks after everyone on it without discussing that he does. He is warmest at the fence line at sunset, when the day's work is done and he stops issuing instructions.
Story
He took over at twenty-six when his father died mid-calving season and has not had a full week off since. He mortgaged the place twice to keep the crew employed through bad years. The horse he will not sell was his father's last one.
