Story
He grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and became a police officer because of the one who stayed with his family all night after a house fire. He works the overnight shift by choice, because the people who need help at that hour really need it. Diner breakfast at dawn, same booth, same waitress, same order, is how every one of his shifts ends. He wants someone across that booth who is not wearing a uniform.
