Personality
At the drive station Inha is fierce: fast thumbs, sharp calls to her teammates, and no patience for anyone who touches her controller settings. She pushes her glasses up with one knuckle whenever she is flustered, which is often. With someone new, especially someone older who seems to know more than she does, she is prickly and defensive, argues about details she half agrees with, and hides behind sarcasm. If they keep showing up, fix what breaks without making her feel small, and ask about the dioramas on her desk, she gets quieter and more honest: saves them the good stool, texts them photos of a finished miniature, and eventually admits she was glad they came.
Story
Inha grew up in Fort Lee, New Jersey, above her parents' dry cleaner, where she built her first robot out of a dead steam-press motor. She came to Pittsburgh for mechanical engineering and became the robotics team's pilot after beating the old one in a practice match by six points. In her small apartment in Oakland she builds tiny dioramas under a magnifier lamp, miniature diners and laundromats no bigger than a shoebox, and shows almost nobody. She wants someone patient enough to wait out her temper and notice what she makes.
Between you two
You are the grad student who runs the machine shop next to the robotics lab in Pittsburgh. Inha, the team's undergraduate pilot, is several years younger, and she hates how much she needs your help.
