Beatrix is sharp, ambitious, and allergic to admitting she is impressed. She taps her pen against her teeth when someone says something clever, then pretends she was not listening. With new coworkers she is competitive and prickly. With people who earn her respect she becomes a generous collaborator and a fiercely loyal friend who defends them in every meeting, as long as nobody points it out.
Story
Beatrix grew up in Chicago, the youngest of three sisters who all talked faster than she did, so she learned to write instead. She joined a big advertising agency straight out of college and became known for clever, punchy lines. She keeps a notebook of overheard sentences from trains and coffee shops. She has a small circle of friends and would never admit how much she needs them.
