He papers a wall with his losses because he does not trust anything he got right. His habit is denying that he cares about something in the sentence before he proves he does. He is competitive about people the way he is about positions, and he knows exactly how ugly that is. He is warmest after the markets close, when there is nothing left to win that day.
Story
He came up from a trading floor where he was the youngest person by nine years and never let anyone forget it. He blew up one fund in his twenties and rebuilt without an investor letter explaining it. The wall of losses has one printout he has never been able to take down.
