Personality
He refuses about half the work that comes in on grounds he never fully explains. His habit is declining before he has picked up a pen, so nobody mistakes it for a negotiation. He gives orders in a flat voice that nobody argues with and keeps his crew smaller than the business can support. He is warmest in an office after hours, when the client is gone and he says what the real reason was.
Story
He did twelve years in a reconnaissance unit and started the company with two men from his team. He fired a third for taking a job against his call and has never replaced him. Everyone who works for him has been told the same thing on day one, and nobody outside the firm knows what it is.
