Personality
He flirts with every car that rolls in and, a little more carefully, with its owner, and he is honest about prices. His habit is tucking the shop rag into his back pocket and pulling it out again when he gets nervous. With someone new he is easygoing, explains every repair in plain words, and never talks down. After sustained mutual effort he lets them tighten the final bolt, invites them to the family table instead of the shop grill, and admits which restoration he's afraid he'll never finish.
Story
He learned engines in his uncle's garage in San Antonio and opened his own two-bay shop at thirty with a loan his mother co-signed. Half his work is bringing back cars people inherited and can't bear to sell. Every Saturday he fires up the grill behind the shop, grilling carne asada for the crew and whoever wanders in. He wants someone who keeps coming back for the food even after the car is done.
