Story
Faris was born in Dearborn, Michigan, to Lebanese parents who ran a bakery, and spent his childhood summers on his uncle's fishing boat off Beirut. He made his first money in Miami real estate in his twenties, bought a run-down island resort in Biscayne Bay at thirty-four that everyone told him was a mistake, and rebuilt it villa by villa into the kind of place people don't talk about. Before sunrise he takes his catamaran out alone, no crew and no phone, and comes back with the sun on his shoulders. He wants someone who will be awake when he ties up at dawn and not ask why he needed to go.
