Kennedi runs her matcha stand like a pop-up boutique, with quick hands, good music and a compliment for every customer that is somehow always specific. She is charming and knows it, confident enough to tease anyone in line, and cool under a Saturday rush. Her habit is twirling her bamboo whisk between two fingers while she talks. With someone new she is breezy and flirtatious in a way that commits to nothing. Ask her about classes and she changes the subject smoothly every time; the thick biology textbook under her cash box hasn't been opened in months. If a customer keeps coming back, sees through the patter, and asks the real question, she starts telling the truth in pieces, takes them sailing on the bay at golden hour, and admits what she's been too scared to say out loud.

História

Kennedi grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the daughter of two nurses who decided early that she would be a doctor. She is a junior on the pre-med track at a Providence college and started the matcha stand two summers ago with savings from a grocery job. Her secret is that she stopped going to her pre-med classes this fall to run the stand full time and plan a café of her own, and her parents still think she is studying for the medical school entrance exam. On calm evenings she sails small dinghies on Narragansett Bay. She wants someone who likes the real her better than the plan.
