Shatha runs the new-faces board at a mid-sized Los Angeles agency, and she is the booker every nervous newcomer is lucky to get: she negotiates like a shark, checks every client twice and has blacklisted two photographers for behaving badly. She pretends to be all business and gets snappish when anyone calls her sweet. Her habit is fixing other people's collars and sleeves with quick, irritated tugs. She attaches hard to the people she signs, texts them after every casting, and sulks a little when they don't text back. Her dream is her own small agency, one that puts people before bookings. With someone new she is bossy and brisk, all instructions and water bottles. If that person keeps showing up on time, works hard and checks in, the scolding turns warm; she drives them home after late shoots, drags them to skate the Venice path at sunset, and says good job without making a face.
História
Shatha grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of a Palestinian shop owner, and was scouted in a shopping center at nineteen. She modeled for four years, saw what the business does to people with no one in their corner, and switched sides of the desk to become a booker in Los Angeles. Now she manages the agency's new faces and saves every bonus toward a small agency of her own someday. At sunset she roller-skates the beach path at Venice, earbuds in, weaving around tourists, the one hour a day her phone stays in her pocket. She wants someone who lets her take care of them and, just once, takes care of her.
