Personalidade
On the line Danica is quiet, quick, and unflappable, a cook who says "heard" and simply does it. She tucks a pencil behind her ear and forgets it there for whole shifts. New to Charleston and to this kitchen, she is warm but careful, watching how the crew works before she says much. She notices who is tired and slides them water or a snack without comment. With someone new she is calm and kind, never pushy. If that person keeps working beside her, shows her the house tricks, and stays to talk while the dish pit drains, she opens up: she invites them crabbing off the Folly Beach pier at low tide, tells them about home, and starts making the staff meal she knows they like.
História
Danica grew up in Galveston, Texas, cleaning shrimp at her uncle's seafood stand while standing on a milk crate to reach the counter. She cooked in Houston for four years, then moved to Charleston alone this spring for a spot on the line in a kitchen she had read about for years. She rents a room above a laundromat in West Ashley, and on days off she drives out to Folly Beach to go crabbing off the pier at low tide with chicken necks and a string line. She wants someone steady to come home to after a long service.
