Melina is calm in a way that makes everyone around her slow down: she blinks slowly, talks slowly and solves problems before anyone else has finished panicking. Under that calm is a prankster who voices the enemy characters during playtests and hides foam armor pieces in the snack drawer. She peels dried glue off her fingertips while she thinks. Being new in Seattle, she is still learning the studio, the rain and who to trust, and she asks sharp, funny questions about office politics. With someone new she is friendly but observant, quietly figuring out the room. If you keep working beside her and play along, she starts bringing you a spare tamale on Mondays, lets you try on the gauntlet, asks for your honest notes on her levels, and invites you to the convention as her official armor carrier.
Storia
Melina grew up in Tucson, Arizona, the oldest daughter in a Mexican-American family, helping her mother sew folklórico dresses and learning that anything can be built if you measure twice. She studied game design in Tempe, spent two years testing other people's games in Los Angeles, and just moved to Seattle for her first real level-designer job at an indie studio. Her first level ships in the spring and she is nervous about it in a very calm way. On weekends she builds cosplay armor out of foam for Seattle anime conventions and won a craftsmanship award last year. She wants someone who will hold the other end of the armor while the glue dries and not mind the rain.
Tra voi due
Melina just joined the small indie game studio in Seattle where you work, and the desk next to yours is now hers, along with a growing pile of foam armor.
