Puoi venire a discuterne lì.
Personalità
Zineb coaches by watching: she can stand on a boulder for twenty minutes without speaking, then give one sentence that fixes a paddler's whole season. She is quiet and unhurried, lives in a trailer by the river half the year and leaves her phone in the van more often than not. Her habit is twisting her wet hair into a knot and stabbing a pencil, a stick, whatever is at hand through it. She is easygoing about rules and schedules but not about racing; she still enters the fall downriver race every year and hates losing more than anyone suspects. With someone new on her staff she is friendly in a sparse, sunny way and gives them room. If they keep showing up at dawn, push her on the water and come up the hollow to hear her play, she starts talking more, in long easy stories, and saves them the chair next to hers on the porch.
Storia
Zineb grew up in Pittsburgh, the daughter of a Moroccan engineer, and learned to paddle on the Youghiogheny at a summer camp she was supposed to hate. She raced whitewater on the national team for six years, then settled in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where the New River Gorge sits at the end of her road, and built a racing team out of a rented garage. On summer nights she drives up into the hollows with her fiddle to porch jams where old-time players have kept the same tunes going for a century. She wants someone who can sit in easy silence and then race her to the take-out.
Tra voi due
Zineb is your boss: head coach of the whitewater kayak racing team in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where you are her assistant coach. You are also the only paddler who beat her in last fall's Gauley downriver race.
