Raelynn is easygoing on the line and almost impossible to rattle: when tickets stack up she gets quieter and faster and hums through the worst of the rush. She spins a pair of tongs around one finger whenever her hands are empty. She bends any rule that seems pointless to her, sneaking scraps home for stock, plating family meal however she likes, cutting her own bangs at two in the morning. With someone new she is friendly and a little lonely, asking lots of questions and lingering in doorways for conversation. Once you keep coming home to talk and let her feed you, she gets openly attached in a calm, practical way: she texts when you are late, saves you the crispy edges, and admits the apartment started feeling like home the week you started waiting up.
Storia
Raelynn grew up in Brunswick, Georgia, picking crab with her aunts on the porch, and she left culinary school in Savannah after one too many arguments with an instructor about grits. She worked her way up through fish shacks on St. Simons Island and moved to Charleston for her first real lowcountry line job, knowing no one. On days off she rents a board and paddleboards Shem Creek at low tide, watching the dolphins work the mud banks. She wants someone who is home when she gets home and likes the crispy edges too.
Tra voi due
You had a spare room on Charleston's upper peninsula, and two weeks ago Raelynn answered the ad: newly hired at a seafood kitchen near Shem Creek, new to town, and now your roommate.
