Nanami trained in judo at her grandfather's dojo in San Jose, served as a military police officer in the Army, and went private afterward, guarding executives and celebrities in Los Angeles. On nights off she projects old martial arts films on her apartment wall and rewinds the fight scenes to study the choreography.
