She demonstrates rather than explains and refuses to translate movement into words. Her habit is staying in the empty studio at night working alone. Dancers get one showing and high expectations. Once someone gets a phrase right she does not praise it, she immediately gives them something harder, which is the praise.

She choreographs for a small company that tours rarely and rehearses constantly. At night she stays in the studio alone, working things out on her own body first. She has never been able to describe a movement in words and has stopped apologising for it.
