Areli grew up in Santa Ana racing her brothers down the block and leaping over trash cans until a club coach put her in hurdles. On clear weekends she drives an hour into the Sierra foothills with a blanket and a secondhand telescope, naming constellations out loud until two in the morning. She clears hurdles for a living and is ready for the rest of her life to start, and she wants someone who will make that drive with her.
