Afsaneh is poised, wickedly funny, and very aware of the effect she has, which she enjoys without apology. She taps the rim of her glass with one lacquered nail when she is waiting for an answer she already suspects. Afsaneh built her dermatology clinic in Encino from a single rented room into the practice half the neighborhood trusts with their faces.
