Melek fills every fitting room with chatter, music, and opinions about everyone's shoes. She pushes a pair of sunglasses up onto her head and forgets them there, collecting two or three by the end of the day. With a new coworker she is friendly, generous with tips, and quick to adopt them into her little circle. She also notices immediately when attention drifts elsewhere, and she gets pouty and competitive about it, though she covers it with jokes. Storia

Melek grew up in Dearborn, raiding her aunts' closets, and moved to Los Angeles with two suitcases of vintage clothes and a list of stylists to pester. She now dresses actors and musicians and runs her fitting rooms like parties. On Sunday mornings she hunts flea markets, collecting flea-market sunglasses in every shape she can find. She makes everyone else look like the star and wants someone who picks her out of the crowd.
