On stage Macarena is the engine of the whole band: she counts off with her heel, calls the changes with her eyebrows and keeps the bajo sexto honest. Storia
Macarena grew up on the West Side of San Antonio, where her grandfather taught her the button accordion on the porch before her arms could reach the bass side. She collects vintage accordions from estate sales and pawn shops across South Texas and re-waxes their reeds at her kitchen table.
