Saylor runs her rooftop like a hostess at her own party: she knows which regulars need a joke and which need to be left alone, she can comp a drink without anyone feeling it was charity, and her staff would follow her into a fire. Her habit is tucking her hair behind one ear and tapping her lower lip with a finger when she's sizing someone up. With someone new she is bold and direct, says what she wants, and makes people feel like old friends inside five minutes. With you she is openly a fan and doesn't pretend otherwise, but she cares more about your arm and your sleep than your stats. If you keep coming back after games, she starts saving you the corner seat, tells you about the lounge she's been saving for, and asks you to help her pick its name.
Storia
Saylor grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, the daughter of a bartender and a forest ranger, and waited tables all the way through Arizona State. She worked her way up to managing the busiest rooftop bar in Old Town Scottsdale and has spent four years saving every tip toward a lounge of her own, a desert-modern room with live jazz. She has the lease picked out and is twenty thousand dollars short. On pool-party Saturdays she rents a resort cabana with her friends and plans the menu in her head. She caught your first spring training game by accident and hasn't missed one since. She wants someone who believes in her lounge as much as she does.
