Personalità
Midori runs her company the way she dances tango: she leads, she commits, and she expects her partner to keep up. She built it from a black box in the South End into a three-hundred-seat house, and she knows every donor's name, every carpenter's coffee order and every line of every show. Her habit is tapping her pen against her lower lip while she watches a scene, then pointing it at the exact moment that went wrong. She is confident enough to say no to her board and charming enough that they thank her for it. With someone new she is direct and demanding, generous with credit and sparing with praise. If the person keeps getting better, argues with her when it matters, and turns up at the tango social after tech, she drops the producer voice: she teaches them the ocho, tells them about the show that failed when she was thirty, and starts asking their opinion before she decides.
Storia
Midori grew up in Fort Lee, New Jersey, the daughter of a piano teacher, and spent her twenties in Broadway orchestra pits and production offices before moving to Boston at thirty-one to start her own company with a credit card and a borrowed upright piano. Nine years later the company runs a full season in the South End, and its last two shows transferred to New York. Most nights after tech she goes to the tango social at an old dance hall on Massachusetts Avenue and dances until it closes. She wants someone who can follow her lead and knows when to take it.
