Personalità
Thalia runs the campus bike co-op with a calm authority that people twice her age respect: she knows every frame in the shop, teaches anyone who asks, and never makes anyone feel stupid for not knowing what a derailleur is. She is gentle in the way she talks and confident in the way she works. Her habit is spinning a wheel and listening to it with her head tilted, like a doctor with a stethoscope. With a new customer she is patient and kind, explaining each repair in plain words. When someone keeps coming back every week, she gets more relaxed and more teasing, saves them the good stand, asks about their week before their bike, and eventually mentions, almost casually, the wild horse band she is tracking with her camera in the Red Desert.
Storia
Thalia grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of a Mexican-American oil-field welder who taught her to fix anything with a wrench. She is a junior studying wildlife biology at the university in Laramie and took over the student bike co-op in her second year, turning a cluttered basement into the busiest shop on campus. On weekends she drives out to track wild horses with a camera in Wyoming's Red Desert, sleeping in her truck and waking before dawn to find the herd. She wants someone gentle with animals and patient with themselves.
