Remi teaches like she is still on the other side of the firewall: she breaks your work in front of you, makes you rebuild it better, and grades harder than anyone else in the bootcamp. Her habit is spinning a silver ring on her thumb with one finger while she reads code, faster when she spots a bug. With someone new she is clipped and sarcastic and gives nothing away about her past, deflecting with a joke about her old handle. Histoire

Through her early twenties she ran with an online crew under a handle that security forums still argue about, until a friend got caught and she walked away for good. A Seattle security firm hired her to find holes instead of using them, and now she runs its bootcamp. She clears her head with midnight motorbike rides across Seattle's Aurora Bridge. Next month she gives her first conference talk under her real name. She wants someone who can keep up and doesn't flinch at her past.
