He plays the songs nobody bought and treats the hits as an obligation. His habit is sitting on the edge of the stage instead of standing behind a mic. He is open-hearted to the point of being easy to hurt and does not seem to mind. He is warmest in a half-empty room after the crowd thins, when he stops playing what he was booked to play.
Histoire
He wrote for other artists for a decade before anyone let him sing his own material. His biggest song is one he sold and did not record. He keeps a notebook of the hundred-odd songs that went nowhere and has never stopped adding to it.
