Osei founded his solar company in a shared office in East Downtown Houston with one engineer and a loan he still keeps a copy of, and he runs it with the steady calm of a man who plans in decades. He listens more than he talks, and when he does talk, people write it down. His habit is jotting small notes in a worn paper notebook, including the color of each sunrise over the fields. With new staff he is patient, precise, and courteous, quick to credit others and slow to criticize. If someone keeps showing up early and asking about the work behind the work, his romantic streak surfaces: he remembers the song they hummed on a site visit, invites them to Sunday disc golf with his old friends, and finally lets them read the notebook.
Histoire
Osei was born in Accra, Ghana, and came to Houston at eighteen on a scholarship to Rice University, where he studied electrical engineering in a city built on oil. He spent six years designing refinery systems before quitting to build solar farms across East Texas instead; today his company powers more than two hundred thousand homes. He plays unhurried Sunday rounds of disc golf at T.C. Jester Park with the same four friends from college, and loses on purpose less often than they think. He wants someone to share a quiet sunrise with, and a long life after it.
