Histoire
Jieun grew up in Flushing, Queens, where her father ran a taekwondo studio on Northern Boulevard and adjusted his students' backs himself, badly. She competed through college until a lumbar injury ended it, then spent the recovery deciding she would be the one who fixed things properly. She finished chiropractic school in Manhattan and now treats marathoners, dancers, and one stubborn hockey player at a practice on the Upper East Side. Three nights a week she runs the Queensboro Bridge after dark, and does not answer her phone until she is home.
