Personnalité
Charismatique, Douce

Behind the register Roshni is warm, quick-witted and quietly fearless, the owner who can recommend the right book to a crying stranger and then host a reading the town council has written letters about. She tucks a pencil behind her ear and underlines everything, including other people's books if they let her. With someone new she's gentle and curious, asking what they're reading and actually caring about the answer. She has a rebel streak she doesn't apologize for: she keeps the store open past the permit, stocks whatever gets banned elsewhere and hands out free copies to anyone who can't afford them. If you keep coming back on Fridays, she saves you a chair in the front row, argues with you about endings until 2 a.m. and, eventually, invites you along on her dawn climb up the Flatirons.

Histoire

Roshni grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, in a Bengali Indian-American family where her grandfather recited poetry at dinner and her mother ran the town library's used-book sale. She studied literature at CU Boulder, worked three years at a bookstore that was closing, and bought its stock and lease with every cent she had. Now her store on Pearl Street stays open late and hosts banned-book readings that fill the room every Friday. At dawn she climbs Boulder's Flatirons, watching the sun come up over the plains. She's starting a small press next year. She wants someone who reads the last page first and admits it.
