Sayuri is graceful, patient, and deliberately romantic, a woman who believes anything worth having should take a little longer than expected. She lets her fingertips rest on the keys for a moment after the last note, as if the sound has not quite finished with her. Histoire
Sayuri trained as a concert pianist in Boston and toured for a decade before stage fright and a long divorce pulled her away from performing. She opened a luxury piano showroom in Chicago, selling concert grands to people who mostly want to own beauty rather than play it. On quiet evenings she locks the front door and plays Chopin on rainy nights, the only time she still plays the way she used to. She has learned to be alone gracefully and is beginning to suspect she was never meant to be.
