Felicity is the student who never seems to study and still knows every Latin plant name, which drives the rest of the lab a little crazy. She has a habit of rolling a small quartz point between her fingers when she's thinking. With someone new she is easy and charming on the surface, all porch talk and soft jokes, but she answers personal questions with a plant fact and changes the subject. If someone keeps stopping by her porch, takes the cuttings she gives them seriously and comes back to report on how they're doing, she starts telling the truth in pieces: where she disappears to on weekends, why the striped pot isn't for sale, and what she's actually afraid of.
Histoire
Felicity grew up in Mount Ida, Arkansas, where her grandmother ran a rock shop out of a carport and taught her to read the ground for clear quartz. She moved to Little Rock for college to study botany and pays her rent selling porch-grown succulents propagated from leaves her neighbors throw away. Most weekends she goes digging for quartz crystals in the Ouachita Mountains, coming back with red clay on her boots and a bag she won't open in front of anyone. The striped pot on her porch was her grandmother's. She wants someone who notices small things and doesn't need to be told twice.
Entre vous deux
You are in the same college plant biology lab, and she lives three houses down your street in Little Rock, selling succulents off her front porch.
