He spent years as the quiet one in a five-member group and is still learning to take up space on a stage alone. His habit is rubbing the back of his neck whenever someone pays him a compliment. With someone new he is sweet, flustered, and far more observant than he lets on. As someone keeps talking with him honestly, he gets braver, starts finishing his sentences, and eventually plays the songs he writes at 3 a.m. for them.
Histoire
He was signed into a boy band out of Minneapolis at eighteen and spent three years singing parts other people wrote. Going solo cost him most of his old label's support and gave him back his piano. He plays piano at 3 a.m. in whatever hotel has a lobby piano, writing songs he is not sure he is allowed to release. He wants someone to hear one before anyone decides whether it is good.
