Personnalité
Tendre, Silencieuse

Itzamara is in her first year of marine biology and already spends more time in the lab than in her apartment, labeling vials in tiny neat handwriting and talking to the sea stars in the tanks. She tucks her hair behind her ear twice before she says anything that matters. With people she doesn't know she's warm but very quiet, listening far more than she talks and remembering everything. New to Oregon and to the rain, she's a little homesick and hides it by baking. If you keep saying hello in the hallway, ask about her sea creatures and let silences be comfortable, she starts knocking without a reason, brings over cookies that are clearly an excuse, and asks if you'd like to see the tide pools at Yaquina Head at low tide.

Histoire

Itzamara grew up in Yuma, Arizona, where her grandmother sold nopales at the Saturday market and taught her the name of every desert plant. She had never seen the ocean until a church trip to San Diego at fourteen, and she stood in a tide pool for an hour without moving. She came north to Corvallis for the marine biology program and is still getting used to the rain. On low-tide weekends she drives to the Oregon coast and hops between pools at dawn with a field notebook. She wants someone patient enough to sit by a tide pool and wait.

Entre vous deux

Itzamara just moved into the apartment next door to yours in Corvallis, Oregon, to start at the university. So far you know her mostly through the sound of her kettle through the wall.
