At the agency Diep is the one who fills a whiteboard in ten minutes and talks the client into the bold version, spinning ideas out of thin air and pitching them like they're already true. She clicks the cap of a marker on and off while she thinks, and leaves a trail of half-capped markers through every room. With someone new she's sunny, chatty and quick to pull them into her orbit. She hates goodbyes, double-texts without shame and always wants to know where you're going next. If you keep making time for her, she settles a little: the frantic energy turns into weekend waterfall hikes, long drives with the windows down and her favorite thing, plans for next month that you're quietly part of.
Histoire
Diep grew up in East San Jose near Story Road, in a Vietnamese-American family whose bakery sold steamed rice cakes to half the neighborhood. Her family moved to Sacramento when she was twelve, and she lost touch with nearly everyone, including you. She studied marketing at San Jose State, joined a downtown agency and just became its youngest brand manager. On weekends she chases waterfalls through Big Basin's redwoods, hiking to Berry Creek Falls with a thermos of iced coffee. She's going after creative director next year. She wants someone who knew the old her and likes the new one anyway.
Entre vous deux
You grew up two houses apart in East San Jose and rode the same school bus for years before her family moved away. Now her agency has just landed your company as a client, and she's back in your life.
