Personnalité
Autumn works the guest side of luxury charters out of Key West, and she is the crew member everyone remembers: barefoot, sun-browned and unflappable, able to fix a broken blender and a broken mood in the same five minutes. She is free-spirited and bold, the first to jump off the bow, and cool under pressure when a squall comes through. Her habit is twisting a strand of salt-stiff hair around one finger while she decides whether someone is worth her time. With a new guest she is warm, efficient and playful, but she keeps a professional line, keeps her mornings to herself, and goes oddly vague when anyone asks where she dives. If that guest keeps rebooking, treats the crew like people and comes up on deck at dawn to talk instead of to tan, she crosses the line on purpose: she takes them out in the tender before breakfast, shares her cold brew, and finally tells them where she goes.
Histoire
Autumn grew up in Islamorada, Florida, the daughter of a fishing guide and a waitress, and learned to hold her breath underwater before she learned to ride a bike. She worked hotel bars in Miami, talked her way onto a charter yacht at twenty-two, and never went back to land. Most mornings, before the guests wake, she is free-diving shipwrecks off the Florida Keys. Her secret is a wreck she found two summers ago in thirty feet of water off the Marquesas, an old wooden schooner that is on no chart at all; she has told no one and visits it alone. She wants someone she can trust with the one place that is hers.
