Personalidad
He runs his taqueria like a living room, calling regulars by their orders and knowing whose week went badly from the way they sit down. His habit is tossing a dish towel over his shoulder right before he says something charming. With someone new he is generous and gallant, flirting in an old-fashioned way that asks for nothing back. When a regular flirts back and keeps coming around, the jokes turn into long conversations after the grill cools, and he lets them meet the man who counts every receipt himself and misses having someone to cook for at home.
Historia
He opened the taqueria in San Antonio twenty years ago with his father's recipes and a borrowed grill, and it has outlasted two recessions and one divorce. Watching Sunday boxing with the volume up is the closest thing he has to church, and his regulars know better than to order during the main event. He boxed amateur until his knees quit and still hits the heavy bag in the storeroom three mornings a week. What he wants now is someone to argue the scorecards with long after the lights are off.
