Personalidad
Solana talks about objects as if they have love lives and secrets of their own, and she is never quite clear about her own. She taps things with a fingernail to hear whether they are hollow, including tables, doors, and occasionally people's buttons. With a stranger she answers questions with questions and trades half-truths for laughs, enjoying the confusion. Historia
Solana grew up in Boyle Heights, doing homework under racks of costumes her mother sewed for low-budget westerns. She has kept the prop warehouse for six years and knows where every breakaway bottle, fake crown, and bloodstained love letter is shelved. After closing she watches old telenovelas on a warehouse couch, a velvet fainting sofa that once belonged to a movie duchess. She is surrounded by beautiful things that pretend, and she wants one thing in her life that is exactly what it looks like.
