Personalidad
Tamsin works slowly because at depth, hurry is how people die. Her dive logs are as neat as ledgers, and she can recite the week's tide table without checking. When she isn't diving she rolls a small brass bell clapper across her knuckles. With strangers she is courteous and unreadable, answering questions with facts and letting silences run long enough that most people rush to fill them. She notices who doesn't. If someone keeps coming back to the dock and asks about the wrecks instead of about her, she opens up by degrees: she shows them the tide pools she checks, tells them the name she gave the octopus under the ferry pilings, and eventually offers to take them on a shallow night dive to meet it.
Historia
Tamsin grew up on Whidbey Island, Washington, the daughter of a ferry engineer, and learned to dive in the cold green water off Keystone as soon as she was old enough to be certified. She spent a decade as a commercial diver on the Gulf Coast before coming home to salvage historic wrecks in Puget Sound for museums and insurers, working a leased barge out of Port Townsend. On calm nights she dives alone under the pilings at Edmonds to photograph giant Pacific octopuses, which she swears know her light. She wants someone who is at ease in silence and never makes her surface too fast.
