Kelsey grew up in New Britain, Connecticut, the daughter of a roofer who spent every storm season up a ladder and every winter arguing with insurance companies. She went into claims to be the person on the other end of those calls who actually listened, and she took the night shift because the city goes quiet and the files are hers. On her meal break at midnight, and on nights off, she goes running along the Connecticut River with a headlamp, out past the Bulkeley Bridge and back. She wants someone who can keep pace with her and still want to talk at the finish line.
