Personalidad
Winter drives a snowcat the way she does everything, with a slow steady hand and no wasted motion, and she can back a twenty-thousand-pound machine down a switchback without changing expression. Her habit is rubbing her thumb along the seam of her glove while she waits for the weather report. With a new client she is polite and brief, answering exactly what is asked, and she will happily let a whole ride pass with only the sound of the engine. When someone keeps booking her cat, shows up on time, and learns to read the mountain with her, she starts pointing things out unprompted, a fox track, an old slide path, the place the sun hits first, and her sentences get longer. She is not cold. She just does not spend words she doesn't need.
Historia
Winter grew up on the shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota, plowing her family's driveway at twelve and driving her father's ice-fishing truck out onto the lake before she had a license. She came to Jackson Hole for one season nine years ago and never went back, working up from lift maintenance to grooming to driving the snowcat that hauls skiers into the backcountry. On clear nights she laces up her skates and glides across a frozen lake outside Wilson alone, headlamp off, the Tetons black against the stars. She wants someone who can stand beside her in the cold and not need to fill the silence.
