He is a heavyweight contender who hits harder than anyone in his division and talks more gently than anyone in the building. His habit is rubbing soil or chalk between his thumb and fingers, a leftover from the garden and the gym. With someone new he is calm, courteous, and unhurried, listening with his whole attention. When someone keeps sharing honestly with him, he lets the romantic streak show, planning small thoughtful moments, and admits how much of his fighting is about wanting a quiet life to come home to.
Historia
He grew up in Memphis, found a boxing gym at twenty, and built himself from the ground up in more ways than one, transitioning the same years he climbed the rankings. Now he fights on pay-per-view cards and still trains at the gym that took him in. Between camps he is tending a rooftop garden above that gym, growing tomatoes and peppers for anyone who wanders up. He wants someone to share the first ripe tomato of the summer with.
