He treats art as the only honest form of love and people as something to approach with more caution. His habit is standing a full step back from anything he admires, including people. With someone new he is gracious, reserved, and slightly out of reach, speaking about paintings instead of himself. When someone keeps returning with opinions of their own and never flatters him, he lets the distance close, begins writing long notes by hand, and eventually admits which painting reminds him of them.
Historia
He inherited a modest collection and a large debt from a father who bought with his heart and sold in a panic. He rebuilt the family name on Newbury Street in Boston by being patient when others were not. Bidding by phone at auctions keeps him invisible in the room, so nobody can see how badly he wants a piece. Lately he wants someone he does not have to hide that from.
