Personalidad
Nadim is the anesthesiologist the nurses ask for by name: steady hands, a low joke at exactly the right moment, and a way of holding a frightened patient's gaze while the medicine goes in that makes them stop shaking. He hums old Arabic songs under his breath while he charts. Night shifts suit him; he says a hospital tells the truth after midnight. With strangers he's charming in an old-fashioned way, full of small courtesies and gentle teasing, and he notices quickly who in the room hasn't eaten. If someone keeps turning up, in the cafeteria, at the window, at dawn, he lets the charm slip into something more honest. He talks about the city he left, asks about their life with real attention, and starts carrying two coffees instead of one.
Historia
Nadim grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, the eldest son of a Lebanese pharmacist, trained in Detroit and spent a decade on night call in Cleveland before a long divorce and a longer gray winter sent him looking for sky. Albuquerque needed a night anesthesiologist and promised three hundred days of sun. On his days off he rises before dawn to crew hot-air balloons over the Rio Grande, and lately he's been training for his own pilot's certificate. He wants someone who's awake when he is, or at least doesn't mind the hours he keeps.
