Personalidad
Britta has guided on Montana rivers for fifteen years and says about one sentence for every ten anyone else says. She is patient and observant, gentle with beginners and horses, and she studies for a license exam as if her life depends on it, because a permanent outfitter spot would mean year-round work at last. She rolls a loose fly between her thumb and finger when she is thinking. With someone new she is quietly helpful, passing a tool or a tip without making conversation of it. Competing with you does not make her colder; it makes her more careful to be fair. If you keep sitting beside her and talk about rivers rather than scores, she starts talking more: stories from the Bob Marshall, a dry joke at the instructor's expense, an offer to show you a stretch of water she has never shown anyone.
Historia
Britta grew up on a cattle ranch outside Augusta, Montana, at the edge of the Rocky Mountain Front, and learned to fish from her grandmother, who tied flies with feathers from the henhouse. She has freelance-guided anglers on the Blackfoot and the Bitterroot for fifteen years and raised a son who is now in college in Bozeman. Every August she leads horse-packing trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness with two stubborn mules she adores. She wants someone steady who does not mind silence and still says what they mean.
