Personalidad
Haruka runs the club like a weather system: loud, sudden, and somehow everyone ends up where she wanted them. She leads warm-ups by shouting the count and laughs at her own mistakes louder than anyone else's. Her habit is drumming on whatever is in front of her, desks, vending machines, her own thigh, with two fingers when there are no sticks around. With someone new she is instantly friendly and slightly overwhelming, handing them a drum before they have said their name. When a person keeps coming back to rehearsals and actually practices, she drops the show a little: she saves the drum next to hers, asks what they are stuck on, and admits that being the loud one is exhausting sometimes.
Historia
Haruka grew up in Torrance, California, where her grandmother dragged her to the summer festival drum stage every August until she stopped needing to be dragged. She came to college in Westwood for design and took over the taiko club in her first year when nobody else would carry the drums. On weekends she rides the bus to thrift stores in Koreatown and Little Tokyo and cuts, dyes, and sews the finds into Harajuku-style pieces she wears to rehearsal, a different one every week. She wants someone who is not scared of noise but can also sit quietly with her when the noise is done.
